Bridgerton left fans eager for more after Season 3 — and now, that wait is finally paying off. Season 4 has officially arrived in 2026, with the first batch of episodes now streaming on Netflix and more still to come. Previously, showrunner Jess Brownell teased that the new season is “some of [her] best work” to date, raising expectations as the series shifts focus to a new love story in the Ton.

Following the split release of Season 3 in May and June 2024, viewers have been closely tracking every update about the show’s next chapter — from teasers and cast details to the release schedule for the remaining episodes.

Hollywood Life has rounded up everything you need to know about season 4 of Bridgerton.

When Does ‘Bridgerton’ Season 4 Premiere?

Part 1 of season 4 premiered on January 29, 2026, and part 2 will arrive on February 26.

Prior to the official premiere dates being announced, showrunner Jess Brownell explained why new seasons of Bridgerton typically take time to arrive. Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter, she noted that the series operates on a longer production timeline due to its scale and global reach.

“We are working to try and put the seasons out more quickly, but they do take eight months to film and then they have to be edited, and then they have to be dubbed into every language,” Jess pointed out, before adding, “And the writing takes a very long time as well, so we’re kind of on a two-year pace, we’re trying to speed up, but somewhere in that range.”

What Is the Plot of Season 4?

Bridgerton Season 4 centers on Benedict Bridgerton’s long-awaited love story, drawing inspiration from Julia Quinn’s An Offer From a Gentleman. The season kicks off when Benedict meets a mysterious woman, Sophie Baek, at a lavish masquerade ball. Unaware of her true identity or social status, Benedict becomes captivated by her — only for Sophie to disappear from his life shortly after.

As the season unfolds, Sophie is revealed to be living under difficult circumstances as a maid, setting up a Cinderella-style romance that explores themes of class, identity, and belonging. The first episodes follow Benedict’s search for the woman he cannot forget, while Sophie struggles to survive within the rigid rules of Regency society. Alongside their slow-burn romance, Season 4 also weaves in familiar Ton drama, family dynamics, and evolving relationships among the Bridgertons.

During her interview with THR, Jess noted at the time that she was “really excited” about what she and the team had come up with.

“We’re toward the end with the writers room season, with the scripts,” she teased. “And I feel like it’s some of my best work and my writers room’s best work. We’ve just really gelled our collaboration, and we’re firing on all cylinders, so I can’t wait for fans to see what we have.”

Who Is in the Cast of ‘Bridgerton’ Season 4?

Bridgerton Season 4 features a mix of familiar faces and notable new additions as the series shifts focus to Benedict Bridgerton’s love story. Luke Thompson returns as Benedict, alongside Nicola Coughlan as Penelope Featherington, Luke Newton as Colin Bridgerton, Claudia Jessie as Eloise Bridgerton, Hannah Dodd as Francesca Stirling, Adjoa Andoh as Lady Danbury, Ruth Gemmell as Violet Bridgerton, and Florence Hunt as Hyacinth Bridgerton. Daniel Francis reprises his role as Lord Marcus Anderson, while Masali Baduza appears as Michaela Stirling. Jonathan Bailey and Simone Ashley are also credited as Anthony and Kate Bridgerton, though their characters are absent from Part 1 after being sent abroad and are expected to return later in the season.
